Edit:

For my non-UK followers

Our lovely government (which no one voted for) has decided for people who live in social housing, if they have an extra bedroom without a family member living in it full time, will be charged a penalty for it. They believe it will encourage people to downsize their homes and allow others to move into larger housing.

Except theres a flaw to this.

A lot of the people in this situation have carers who dont live with them and occasionally are required to stay over night to help with their needs. No extra money is being added to their benefits and these people who live off a VERY limited budget to begin with are now expected to find an extra £80 a month (for some people thats an extra week of benefits) to pay for this tax.

This only forces those who are at their most vulnerable and unable to work into debt.

Fuck Clegg and fuck Cameron.

Today in videos that will blow your mind: This is called a “Hyperlapse,” a time-lapse video built with a number of camera movements. This would be cool on its own (the process is generally very time-consuming), but the really awesome part is this: It was created using publicly-available Google Streetview data. There’s even a tool that helps you make your own. The results are rad in that way that few things are. I’m gonna stop talking now. Just watch.

Photos of Children From Around the World With Their Most Prized Possessions

Shot over a period of 18 months, Italian photographer Gabriele Galimberti’s project Toy Stories compiles photos of children from around the world with their prized possessions—their toys. Galimberti explores the universality of being a kid amidst the diversity of the countless corners of the world; saying, “at their age, they are pretty all much the same; they just want to play.”

Natsumi Hayashi

”A sweet-looking Japanese girl who, one day, decided to take self-portraits..of herself levitating. She can be spotted in and around Tokyo, equipped with her SLR and her self-timer. When she feels the moment strike, she presses the shutter button down and then, quite literally, “jumps” into place. What I love most about her shots is that they don’t feel forced. Natsumi has a way of making us feel as though she naturally levitates throughout life. When I asked her how others react to her jumping around Tokyo, here is a funny story that she shared. “One day, when I was jumping at a famous sightseeing spot in western Tokyo, workers at a souvenir shop were frightened by how I was jumping. They were whispering things like ‘Is the girl mentally ill’ and ‘Do we need to call the police?’ “So I stopped jumping and apologized to them by saying, ‘I am taking jumping photos for my wedding party’s slide show.’ Their faces turned bright red, and they said things like ‘Oh dear!’ and ‘Congratulations!’ and even ‘Keep jumping!’
